Wi-Fi Network SSID

An "SSID" is an acronym for Service Set ID.  It is the human readable name given to a Wi-Fi Network.  When you use a device to connect to a Wi-Fi Network you see a list of SSID that are available for a connection.  Below is an example from an iPhone.  Please see Wikipedia for more details.
