Komodo Test

A Komodo Test is executed by a Komodo Eye Device.  It is an individual test of a computer network.  The Komodo Eye Device executes an individual test run on a five minute interval.  Each test is composed of multiple sub-tests.  Each sub-test represents a user interacting on the computer network with a device.  The two most common and useful sub-tests are the Komodo Speed Test and the Komodo Latency Test.

Here is a list of metrics that are gathered during a Komodo Test.

  • Signal strength
  • Number of possible users
  • Network connection
  • IP Allocation and DHCP
  • DHCP Lease times
  • Network authentication pass/fail
  • DNS pass/fail
  • Per-user browsing speed
  • Per-user streaming speed
  • Total circuit speed
  • Available circuit bandwidth
  • Latency by network segment (LAN, ISP, SaaS Application)
  • Jitter
  • Packet loss
  • Signal to noise ratio (SNR)
  • Noise floor
  • Wireless channel saturation
  • Wireless channel conflicts
  • Transmit and receive rates
