Wireless Access Point (WAP)

A wireless access point (WAP) is a physical piece of networking hardware that allows wireless mobile devices to communicate.  The WAP often broadcasts a Wi-Fi Network SSID that allows mobiles devices to connect to it and communicate over a Wi-Fi Network.  Wireless communications are made possible using a radio antenna.
