Depending on whether or not your Wireless Access Point (WAP) is also a DHCP server or not, a WiFi Komodo Test assigned to that WAP will succeed at WiFi signal strength detection and succeed at association, but fail at DHCP or DNS.
The threshold metric notification for latency and speed will both be triggered (e.g. latency reported by the test failure will be 1000 ms and the speed will be 0 Mbps). If the WAP responds to PING then the Latency pop up will show you that trace route was unable to ping past the WAP. Here is an example. This is how you indirectly know that the speed or latency notification was triggered by a down network link to the AP.
